I hope this isn't a sign as to how the rest of this project is going to go :( I had gotten the idea off of a fellow haunter (Passi) on HalloweenForum, however thought I would try making it more sturdy by adding duct tape.  FAIL!

ETA 4/31/2013: Thanks to the help of my haunter friends, I was able to come up with a solution and it seems to be working (so far!)I will be posting a new video (once my damn computer lets me) to show the change I made!

Finally we have gotten all of the necessary materials needed to get our Sam prop started. I ended up spending a good bit of money on him because I have to be a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of stuff.  Thank God for tax returns! lol Unfortunately, we weren't able to find something similar to his costume so we (my amazing mother-in-law and I) will be making one.  I have a feeling that it will be the longer part of this whole process but we will find out soon :) I also show you some of the things we created last year for our haunt.

Today, without even giving it a second thought, I created and posted my first ever vlog! After I posted it however, is when I started to second guess myself. Creeping around youtube for a while, I have found out that the haunter community is truly amazing, and although I am brand new to home haunting, wanted to be a part of the family.  What's nice about being on youtube is that I am able to ask for help, and see what others have done in the past that will help me with whatever project I am working on.  Also, anyone who is a home or professional haunter is willing to help you out and give you as much information as possible.  No one is there to put you down or tell you what you're doing sucks, they are real, genuine people who care and want to make your yard as kick ass as theirs!

Who would have ever though that there was such things as a Halloween community or people out there as obsessed with Halloween as I am? Of course I didn't think I was the only one, but around here practically NO ONE decorates their yard.  At times there are people who ask me or say "wow, I bet you get a lot of trick or treaters (or in the haunt world TOT's)" And then I always reply with "Not a single one!" The look on their faces is just priceless, usually followed by " Well if you don't get any trick or treaters, who are you decorating for and why?" Every year we have a big party to celebrate Halloween and to make memories for all of our closest family and friends.  It's our way of sharing the traditions and joy that halloween can bring. Seeing the smiling faces and people having a good time is the ultimate reward for me and it's all I will ever need to keep doing what I am doing :)
